Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed into law in February of 2009, those who purchase and install a qualifying wood stove for residential use during the 2010 tax year are eligible for a 30% Tax Credit of up to $1,500.

The CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep© credential is acknowledged as the measure of a chimney sweep's knowledge about the evaluation and maintenance of chimney and venting systems. To ensure the continued integrity of this credential, the Chimney Safety Institute of America occasionally increases the standards of the credentialing process. A CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep© must retake the certification examination every three years to maintain CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep© status.
