Chimney Swift Removal

Chimney Swifts are migratory birds that nest in open masonry chimneys. Chimney Swifts are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and a federal permit is needed to remove birds and their nests during the nesting season. Therefore, we can't sweep your chimney if you have an active nest.

Their breeding season is from May through July. Once the eggs hatch and the birds leave their nest, it is important to have your chimney swept of any nesting material to prevent smoke backup and fire due to a blocked flue. We will sweep and inspect your chimney and recommend the installation of a chimney cap to prevent the birds from returning.

Our Recommendations

Critters die in the strangest places. In addition to a foul smell, deceased varmints bring flies and maggots. If you have an animal in your chimney, let us know. We offer evening and weekend appointments in emergency situations.

We recommend the removal of the animal and any nesting material that has been left in your chimney. At this time, it's good to have the chimney swept and inspected to ensure it is safe for use. We also recommend installing a properly-fitted chimney cap to ensure the animals do not return to your chimney.
